Prof. Maria Koinova is Professor in International Relations at the University of Warwick, and the author of "Diaspora Entrepreneurs and Contested States" (Oxford University Press 2021), and "Ethnonationalist Conflict in Postcommunist States" (UPENN, 2013), alongside over 40 academic publications stemming from a large-scale European Research Council Starting Grant Project “Diasporas and Contested Sovereignty” she directed as Principal Investigator (2012-2017), and other research projects. Prof. Koinova a co-author of a 2025 report "Engaging the Global Ukrainian Community for Ukraine's Recovery: Democracy and Human Rights Dimensions" (University of Warwick and ICMPD), following from several impact-oriented projects she conducted as a Principal Investigator together with OSCE-ODIHR and ICMPD.
