Marisé is a Senior Lecturer in Human-Centred Robotics and AI at Cardiff University, where her research spans robotics, human-robot interaction and accessible technology design. She is part of The Centre for Social Care and Artificial Intelligence Learning (SCALE). She works through participatory and co-design methods, developing robots and other technologies alongside disabled and neurodivergent people, clinicians and educators who will use them rather than designing for them at a distance. She holds a PhD in Rehabilitation and Health Care research, and is an Executive Board member of the UK Robotics and Autonomous Systems Network and an Expert Evaluator for the European Commission.
