María Guadalupe Pinna Hernández

María Guadalupe Pinna-Hernández is a Chemical Engineer from the University of Almería (UAL,2005) and Industrial Engineer (UJA, 2011), holding Master’s degrees in Solar Energy (UAL-CIESOL, 2008) and Ph.D in Biotechnology and Industrial Bioprocesses (UAL, 2017). Research experience developed over 19 years through the public institution (UAL), the technological center foundation (CTAER) and the private company (VELLSAM). The main research lines of her career are the treatments of wastewater regeneration, valorization of biomass waste and coupling of solar energy to different biotechnological processes, placing the lines within the circular economy. Pinna-Hernández has participated in 24 R&D projects, and she has been the principal investigator in 4 international projects, 2 national projects and 1 regional projects, generating funding of 1,2 million euros. She has published 19 papers in high impact international journals (81% in Q1), 1 national book and presented 42 contributions in international and national conferences. She has participated in 16 R&D contracts with private companies (8 as principal investigator) generating funding of 1.7 million euros. In parallel, she has directed and coordinated the scientific teams of research projects including international consortia. During the three stages, development of international collaborations through international research projects and contact networks/platforms with 15 countries. She has supervised 1 Ph.D thesis (Use of greenhouse plant waste for heating and carbon enrichment (2019-2023)), with 3 papers, 5 international communication, 6 national communication. Currently, she is supervising 1 Ph.D thesis "Plant Valorization for Heating and Carbon Enrichment on a pilot scale". Until today, 2 papers have been published, 3 international communication, 3 national communication, both belong to the Doctorate program in Biotechnology and Industrial Bioprocesses (8903) of the University of Almería. She has also supervised 4 Master’s degree final projects and 7 Bachelor’s degree final projects.
