Marcel Vondermaßen studied philosophy and political science in Freiburg.
In 2014, he completed his doctorate in the field of tension between sociology, philosophy and political science on the topic of ‘Recognition - a new guiding concept for politics’.
In 2015, he was one of the prizewinners of the Research Institute for Philosophy in Hanover.
Since 2016 he has been a researcher at the IZEW.
Since 2022, he holds the position of Deputy Managing Director and Scientific Coordinator of the Centre.
In 2020 he was one of the co-founders of the ethics blog ‘Bedenkzeiten’, since 2022 he is a member of its review board.
