Maitane Mazmela Etxabe

Maitane Mazmela is a Lecturer and Researcher at the Polytechnic School of Mondragon Unibertsitatea (MU). She earned her Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design Engineering in 2010, followed by a Master's degree in Strategic Design of Products and Associated Services in 2012. Her academic journey culminated in a PhD with Cum Laude distinction, awarded by Mondragon Unibertsitatea in 2020.
Since 2012, she has held the role of Digital Strategy and User Experience Lead at several design agencies, leading projects for a range of institutions and companies. She has been teaching at MU since 2016, specializing in Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering, as well as in the Master’s program in Strategic Design of Products and Services. In addition to her research and teaching activities, Maitane has supervised PhD research in human-robot interaction (2023)
Her research focuses on technology acceptance and human-robot interaction, areas in which she has contributed to numerous privately funded projects and European initiatives. She has also authored multiple scientific publications on these topics. In recognition of her expertise, she has been a member of the scientific committee for the International Congress on Human-Computer Interaction since 2019.
