Magda Konieczna is a journalism professor at Concordia University in Montreal. Her book, Journalism Without Profit: Making News When the Market Fails (Oxford, 2018), focuses on nonprofit news organizations and the future of journalism. She has a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and was a city hall reporter at the Guelph Mercury in Ontario before moving into academia.
