Lyndon Simkin is Professor of Strategic Marketing and Marketing Subject Lead at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School.

Previously he as Director of the Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) at Coventry University, before which he was Professor of Strategic Marketing at Henley Business School (University of Reading).

Lyndon’s research focuses on strategy implementation, target market strategy and business planning, as well as aspects of responsible business and the future of the high street. He has near to one hundred publications and has authored eleven books, including The Dark Side of CRM, Marketing: Concepts and Strategies, Marketing Planning and Market Segmentation Success. Lyndon has so far supervised twenty-one doctoral completions. At Coventry University Lyndon was responsible for research strategy creation, the effective operationalisation of research business plans and the mentoring of research staff.

Lyndon’s core interest is the operationalisation and implementation of strategies and plans. He is acknowledged as an expert in strategic planning, marketing planning processes, brand strategy and target market strategy development. A recurring theme is the role of innovation and thought leadership in building customer relationships and creating competitive advantage. Lyndon supports a diverse selection of organisations and coaches several CEOs and leadership teams. He has developed effective and easily adopted processes for creating strategies, but crucially also for subsequently engendering buy-in and adoption across an organisation.
