I am a palaeontologist interested in explaining both ecological and evolutionary patterns throughout Earth's history. Integrating concepts and methods from palaeontology, geology and biology, I seek to address the question ‘what drives patterns of community structure?'
Specific areas of research to date include: 1) Identifying the factors that influence community diversity and body plan evolution; 2) Reconstructing historical trends of environmental change in estuarine and tropical reef settings and; 3) Determining the resilience of biological communities subjected to repeated disturbance.
