I completed a PhD in Evolutionary Ecology at Monash University in late 2020. After that, I shifted my focus to environmental sciences. I have been working in that field since 2021, originally at Deakin University as part of the Blue Carbon Lab, and now at RMIT University as part of the Centre for Nature Positive Solutions (still the Blue Carbon Lab, but rebranded and at a new university). My research mainly focuses on the development and implementation of nature-based solutions to mitigate climate change, which includes:
- freshwater and coastal wetland restoration for greenhouse gas emission reduction and carbon sequestration outcomes
- quanitifying the benefits of managing farm dams for carbon and biodiversity outcomes
- managing wastewater to promote a circular economy within the water sector and help them achieve net zero by 2035 through nature-based solutions like floating wetlands.
