Luicer Anne Ingasia Olubayo

Dr. Luicer Anne Ingasia Olubayo is a visiting researcher at the Sydney Brenner Institute for Molecular Bioscience, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, and holds a Sydney Brenner Charitable Trust Fellowship that is co-hosted at the University of Edinburgh.

With a background in pathogen genomics, infectious disease epidemiology, and molecular biology, her research explores how human genetics, epigenetics, and the gut microbiome influence health and disease in African populations. She is particularly interested in the intersections of infectious and non-communicable diseases, including HIV, ageing, and cardiometabolic conditions, and in the role of the gut microbiome as a mediator of these processes.
