Louis Kusi Frimpong holds a PhD in geography and resource development from the University of Ghana. His research interests are in the area of urban sustainability, community development, and disaster resilience studies. Louis has researched and published in areas such as urban safety and security, urban livelihoods, informal settlers' lived experience, urban environmental problems, walkable cities, community-based development, and higher education. He was the principal investigator for the project titled ‘After the War and Ebola: community-based revitalization of urban neighborhoods in Freetown’ funded by the Konosuke Matsushita Foundation Research Grant Award in 2020 and is currently the co-investigator for the project titled ‘Transforming the unwalkable city: knowledge, practices, and interventions for a more inclusive future of walking in Africa’ funded by the ‘Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF)’. Dr Frimpong is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Geography, University of Environment and Sustainable Development, Somanya.
