Researcher with over 25 years experience in the NHS and academic sectors and as a freelance consultant, particularly in the area of how substance use and gambling difficulties affect children and families. Was centrally involved with 2 large ESRC funded projects: adults bereaved by substance misuse; and Voicing Loss, which examined bereaved people's experiences of the coroner service in England and Wales. Worked with a core group of others to establish the Addiction and the Family International Network (AFINet), an unregistered charity which now has over 900 members from 50+ countries. A Welsh learner who volunteers for the Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog and Stump up for Trees.
