Lorelle Holland

(She/her)

Dr Lorelle Holland is a Mandandanji woman, Registered Nurse, public health practitioner, child development and Indigenous health researcher, and a Research Fellow with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Futures and the School of Nursing, Midwifery, and Social Work at The University of Queensland. Her work sits at the intersection of care, courage, and transformation, grounded in sovereignty, lived experience, and relational accountability. Lorelle’s research reimagines how systems respond to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, challenging the criminalisation of complex support needs and advancing pathways centred on healing, dignity, and self determination. Working across justice, disability, alcohol harm prevention and minimisation, and social and emotional wellbeing, she centres Indigenous methodologies, community leadership, and children’s voices. Lorelle’s scholarship is future focused, walking pathways of thrivance across the lifecourse—for children, families, and generations yet to come.
