I was born and raised in a small town in the pre-alps in Northern Italy. I studied molecular biology and genetics at the University of Pavia, where I completed both my bachelor's and master's degrees. Following this, I moved to Estonia to get my PhD at the University of Tartu, where I spent four years investigating the genomics of admixed American populations, earning my degree in 2021. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Smurfit Institute of Genetics at Trinity College Dublin, working within Dr. Emilia Huerta-Sánchez’s Evolutionary Genetics research group. My research mainly focuses on ancient European populations, exploring their population structure, demographic history, and adaptive processes.
