Dr Liam Gillespie is a Lecturer in Criminology (MECAF) at the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne.

He is currently researching ethnic nationalism, racism, populism, and far-right extremism, with an emphasis on street-based protest movements, riots, and political violence. He is particularly interested in how these phenomena have evolved throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.
