Broadly I study the relationships between science, technology, and people and how these interactions play out in environmental monitoring and management. My research program has evolved around three key themes as they relate to fisheries and oceans: 1) the politics of environmental science, 2) the Big Data turn in environmental management, and 3) environmental justice and resource access and control.
