- PhD Candidate in Psychology, University of Tasmania
I am a psychological science and behavioural economics researcher with a First Class Honours in Economics, and currently undertaking my PhD in Psychology. I have over 12 years of experience in the Tertiary Education Sector working with and leading multi-disciplinary teams of researchers. My research focuses on digital harms, such as child exploitation prevention efforts, and the incorporation of gambling-like mechanisms in video games. I am a co-author on 17 peer reviewed research outputs in world leading journals such as Nature Human Behaviour, The Lancet Planetary Health, and Addiction. My research work has seen me contributing written and oral testimony to governmental inquiries in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Recently I was Lead Author of a Correspondence piece in Nature about the potential for social-media bans to backfire.
