(She/her)

Dr. Lauren Bliss is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Human-Computer Interaction Group in the School of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne. She explores how digital media and screen cultures shape experiences of family, childhood, parenting and relationships, with research spanning early screen cultures, television and cinema through to contemporary digital media, including reaction videos and memes, social media, family location tracking and children’s fintech technologies. Her earlier work examined maternal visual culture, pregnancy, motherhood and embodiment. Across these areas, she is interested in how media technologies shape everyday experience, participation, intimacy and social imaginaries.
