Education: PhD. by UCM (2007). Master in Nutrition by University Complutense of Madrid (UCM) (1999-2002). Degree in Pharmacy by UCM (1994-1999)
Experience: Professor and member of the "Nutritional assessment of individuals and groups. Methodology and applications" (VALORNUT) Research Group in the Department of Nutrition and Foos Sciences in the UCM (2018-Present). Before, LMBL was senior Researcher in the Nutrition and Functional Food research group (NUTRInvest) in the “instituto de investigación sanitaria del Hospital Universitario La Paz” (IdiPAZ) being responsible for coordination of the nutritional Clinical Trials (2009-2018). Also, she was a contracted researcher in the clinical department of the CRO company “Quantum ExperimentalL S.A” (2008).
Background: LMBL took part in 85 research projects, being competitive 37 of them. It is important to note that LMBL has great experience in the participation of collaborative projects, such as CIEN program (CIEN “SATISFOOD” IDI-20150579/20150586”); CENIT program (“CENIT HIGEA” (CEN-20071008); “CENITPRONAOS” (CEN-20081004) and CENIT HENUFOOD MICINN” (CEN-20101016)) and RETOS program (RETOS DAMM, RTC-2016-5317-1). LMBL was involved in designing protocols and documents to the CEIC and coordinating clinical trials to provide strong experimental evidence between functional food components and health or disease and designing nutrition research to improve or maintain health in different collectives. As a result, LMBL has published 70 articles, and more than 160 national and international congresses and conferences. She is the co-author of a registered industrial property (european reference: EP21382683.7). LMBL has directed 1 Doctoral Theses, 5 Final Master's Projects and 11 Final Degree Projects.
