Laura Elin Pigott is an accomplished academic in neuroscience and physiology with a distinguished background in both research and teaching. She is a Neuroscientist and researcher by background. Currently, she serves as Course Leader and Senior Lecturer at London South Bank University, where she leads neuroscience and neurophysiology instruction across various levels and supervises significant educational initiatives. Laura has a robust research portfolio, particularly in neuroimaging, glioma progression, and machine learning applications in cancer diagnostics, with publications in high-impact journals. More recently her research has extended to cognitive neurosciences, investigating human brain development. She is an active contributor to initiatives supporting gender equality in STEM; Laura’s expertise is further enhanced through her UN Women UK delegation role and involvement in Frontiers Women in Neurology/Radiology Journal to empower young women in STEM.
