Dr Laura Blackie is an Associate Professor in Psychology at the University of Nottingham. Her research examines post-traumatic growth exploring how people find meaning and change in the aftermath of adverse life experiences.

Laura is an internationally recognised expert in post-traumatic growth research, and has contributed co-authored publications in outlets including the Journal of Personality, European Journal of Personality, Social Psychological and Personality Science, and Psychological Science. She has worked on research programmes as part of teams that have secured funding from research bodies such as the John Templeton Foundation, Templeton Religion Trust, the British Academy, and Wellcome. Laura currently serves as a member at large on the board for the Association for Research in Personality, and on editorial boards for Personality and Social Psychology Review, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and previously for Social Psychological and Personality Science (2019-2024).

Laura's research has been featured in online articles for the BBC, Forbes, Huffington Post, and in-print for Scientific American Mind. Laura authors a blog on Psychology Today called The Many Faces of Adversity.
