Lathifah Hanum, usually called Hanum, graduated as a Clinical Psychologist from the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Indonesia. Since 2013, she has worked as a Lecturer at her alma mater. As a psychologist and a researcher, Hanum's primary interest is Geropsychology. Since 2011, she has worked in the field, producing numerous publications and psychological intervention modules to help older people maintain their mental health. Together with her team, she also developed an instrument to measure the psychological well-being of older Indonesians.

Currently, she is a PhD Candidate at the School of Psychology, The University of Queensland, Australia. Her PhD project examines the relationship dynamics between Indonesian older people and their adult children who engage in intergenerational co-residence. She aims to evaluate the influential factors of intergenerational co-residence from older people's and adult children's perspectives. In addition, she also built an instrument to measure the relationship dynamic between older people and adult children and developed a psychological intervention to help both generations maintain their relationships.
