Larissa is a PhD Candidate in the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR) at Sheffield Hallam University, funded by the Vice-Chancellor's PhD Studentship. Prior to this she worked in the employment and related services sector for five years.
Larissa’s broad research interests lie in the areas of gender, social control, feminist political economy, welfare and criminal justice. More specifically, her research aims to provide a more nuanced understanding of the combined effects of changes in welfare and criminal justice policies on the everyday lives of women at the social margins.
Larissa has lectured in Criminal Justice at the Department of Law and Criminology at Sheffield Hallam University. She has worked on a number of commissioned research projects including the evaluation of Barrow Cadbury Trust's Transition to Adulthood (T2A) Programme and the Royal College of GPs Fuel Poverty Pilot.
