Dr Larelle Bossi is CEO and Founder of Ethical Ocean and a Research Fellow at the Institute for Ethics, Governance and Law at Griffith University. She is also an advisory member of the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy an the Vice President of the Australian Association for Professional and Applied Ethics (AAPAE).

Her research and advisory work focuses on ocean ethics, relational ethics, transformative ocean governance and blue ecofeminism, drawing on ecofeminist theory, existential philosophy, and First Nations kinship worldviews. She has developed ethical frameworks for blue economies incl. wild harvest, aquaculture, offshore wind and wave energy, and works to advance regenerative practices and transformative cultures within blue economies.

Her work spans ocean governance, place attachment, cultural licence and the decolonisation of marine spaces. She contributes regularly to The Interpreter and Blue Horizon podcast series. With a background as an award-winning filmmaker and theatre director, Larelle brings expertise in creative and cultural practice to questions of ocean governance, ethics and environmental change.
