Lala Rukh

(She/Her)

I communicate science to people of all ages in various formats and settings. I have played science with kids in kindergarten and engaged with adult learners. I can communicate science, especially climate science, in old, boring traditional ways like research publications and all, but I prefer playing board games, explaining it through paint, music, arts, and design. I love explaining science while walking in the woods. Conventionally, I am finishing up my PhD at the University of Galway, Ireland. My PhD Project is very interesting though, in the Irish context, I am trying to answer, “Is your energy efficient home comfortable and a healthy indoor living space?” & “Are you compromising your thermal comfort over energy cost?”, “How likely is it that your home will have mould growth, and what can you do about it?” Cool stuff! But there is crazy data for the three years, and lots of expensive infrastructure that has gone behind it, thanks to my team, who have supported it.

Originating from Pakistan, I take seriously the need for just and equitable access to education and resources for all. My journey has been blessed, and that all happened because I have always had the best mentors. Following their footsteps, I try to be of some help to people looking for better opportunities. I am always happy to help!
