- Research Scientist in Ecological Transformation, University of Colorado Boulder
Dr. Kyra Clark-Wolf is a Research Scientist in CIRES at CU Boulder, studying ecological transformation in a context of changing climate. Kyra’s research interests integrate perspectives from paleoecology, fire ecology, and climate adaptation science. At the NC CASC, Kyra is working on the development of ecological scenarios to inform natural resource management under uncertainty about future climate and ecological conditions. Her dissertation work utilized lake-sediment records to understand fire-climate-ecosystem interactions over centuries to millennia in Rocky Mountain subalpine forests. She has also led research in recent wildfires investigating post-fire conifer seedling demographic processes and relationships with microclimate conditions. Kyra received a B.A. in Environmental Science from Colorado College and a Ph.D. in Systems Ecology from the University of Montana.
