(She/Her)

Dr Kylie Trask-Kerr (Kylie Kerr) is a Senior Lecturer, Researcher, and Head of Discipline (Postgraduate Education) in the Faculty of Education and Arts at the Australian Catholic University, Melbourne. She began her career as a secondary teacher of Philosophy, English, Politics and History in the early 2000s before moving into education research. Her research interests include the philosophy of education, humanities education, critical thinking, ethics, and the role of education in human flourishing.

Kylie’s PhD, completed at the University of Melbourne, used qualitative methods to critically examine the philosophical underpinnings of positive education practices, including adolescent beliefs about success, the good life, and the purposes of schooling. She has subsequently explored the nature of resilience, the value of humanities education and its contribution to flourishing, moral education, the teaching of controversial issues in schools, and the transformative role of education in nurturing global flourishing.
