Krystian Seibert has extensive experience shaping the policy and regulatory settings for Australia’s not-for-profit and philanthropic sectors. As Executive Director, Policy and Sector Development, at Philanthropy Australia, he drives the peak body’s strategic advocacy to strengthen the policy environment for philanthropy and civil society.

Krystian previously served as an Associate Commissioner at the Productivity Commission, appointed by the Australian Government to jointly lead its inquiry into philanthropy. The inquiry’s report, Future Foundations for Giving, sets out a reform roadmap for supporting giving in Australia.

As an adviser to a former Assistant Treasurer in the Australian Government, Krystian managed the delivery of major not-for-profit sector reforms, including establishing the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and legislating the Charities Act 2013. In 2026, he was appointed as a member of the ACNC Advisory Board.

Krystian is a Non-executive Director of the Consumer Policy Research Centre, an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Canberra, and an Adjunct Industry Fellow at Swinburne University of Technology. He was Chair of Mental Health First Aid International between 2021 and 2026, having served as a Non-Executive Director since 2014.

Krystian holds a Master’s degree in regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science and undergraduate degrees in law and economics from Deakin University.
