I am retired and the former head of the Institute of Sensory Ecology at the Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf. I am still active and working on pollination biology focusing on flower colour preferences of pollinators for example in bees, birds, and hoverflies, false colour photography in bee view to understand how UV-sensitive and Red-insensitive bees see flowers, and aspects of mimicry, for example the world's most speciose mimicry system, pollen and stamen mimicry. I am also engaged in nature conservation.
