Kimberly Hillier

Dr. Kimberly Hillier, PhD, is an educator and researcher whose work is grounded in a commitment to equitable, accessible, and responsive education. Her research interests include trauma and trauma-informed pedagogy, access to education, and equitable literacy practices in elementary education. Drawing on experience in both classroom and system-level literacy roles, her work bridges research and practice, with particular attention to how educational systems can better respond to the diverse experiences, strengths, and needs of learners. Her scholarship seeks to challenge barriers to participation and learning while advancing inclusive pedagogical practices that promote meaningful access, belonging, and opportunity for all students. Her multidisciplinary research has been published in Feminism & Psychology (2025); Journal of Family Issues (2021); Intersectionalities: A Global Journal of Social Work Analysis, Research, Polity, and Practice (2021); Journal of Teaching and Learning (2021); Journal of Mother Studies (2021); and Journal of Motherhood Initiative for Research and Community Involvement (2019; 2020).
