- Professor of Women's and Gender Studies, Mount Royal University
With a Ph.D. from the Harriet Tubman Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at University of Maryland and a Master of Social Work from Western New Mexico University, Kim (she/her) has worked for more than twenty-five years at the intersection of gender, sexuality, mental health, and social justice. She is Professor of Women's and Gender Studies at Mount Royal University and a white settler living uninvited in Canada's Treaty 7 territory. Her work challenges cisheteronormative, colonial, and pathologizing approaches to knowledge production, with particular attention to how institutions shape lived experiences of care, identity, and belonging. She is committed to scholarship that is accountable to the communities it engages and to pedagogical practices that are relational, accessible, and liberatory. She is the author of IMAGINING RUSSIA (SUNY Press 2012) and STAMPEDE (Fernwood 2021), and co-editor of NOTELETS OF FILTH (Routledge 2023).
