Kimberley Jackson is a tenured Associate Professor at the Arthur Labatt School of Nursing at Western University, Canada. Dr. Jackson holds her PhD and Master's degree from the University of Toronto and undergraduate degree from McMaster University. Her research aims to improve health outcomes for women and children, both nationally and internationally. Using a pragmatic world view, chosen methods and methodology are fitting with the best approaches to answer the research question. This is facilitated by a range of rigorous quantitative approaches such as randomized controlled trials and/or meta-analyses and systematic reviews through to qualitative exploration of important concepts in women’s health. Although this research broadly covers issues pertaining to women’s health, two main research foci include: 1) antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care (e.g., breastfeeding and perinatal pain and mental health); and intimate partner violence/ gender based violence. Intersectionality and feminism underpin this work.
