A Yamatji-Noongar man and head of Indigenous education development at the School of Indigenous Studies from The University of Western Australia. Kevin is an Indigenous knowledge expert that has taught Indigenous perspectives across multiple disciplines for over a decade including the allied health, aged care, mining sector and natural sciences. Kevin is a PhD candidate working with the Aged Care workforce to improve quality of Life for Elders receiving care. He previously taught within the Centre for Aboriginal Medical and Dental Health in the medical faculty but has progressed to supporting the agenda of Indigenous education and curriculum strategy and development across the university while .
Kevin was the Director of the Berndt Museum of Anthropology at UWA and uses his Business and mining background to create bridges and connect people with better understandings of Indigenous knowledge and perspectives. Kevin's special skill is his ability to navigate between Indigenous and non-Indigenous ways of working and finding common ground for everyone to be able to connect and benefit from engagement. Previously Kevin was a health & safety graduate with Rio Tinto who progressed to being a health advisor and then later joining the Social Performance team as Business Partner post Juukan Gorge, supporting the management of social and cultural risks. He is now a fulltime Senior Lecturer as UWA where he enjoys exploring how technology and industry can work with Indigenous knowledge to produce greater outcomes for the Australian workforce and public as a whole
