- Associate Professor of Global pre-1800 Literature, University of Winnipeg
I specialize in the Black Atlantic, Caribbean slavery and race, and the global dimensions of Black resistance and abolition up to the present. I am under contract with Broadview Press to produce a new edition of The History of Mary Prince (1831). As an Anti-racist pedagogy practitioner I run regular workshops on undisciplining 18th and 19thc studies and on decolonial curriculum.
In 2022 I co-edited a volume for Palgrave, Austen after 200, which assessed the bicentennial celebrations of Austen within a critical race and critical gender frame. I am co-editing Jane Austen and the Making of Regency Whiteness for SUNY Press.
