The Voice to Parliament is being heralded as a future solution to many issues. But there are issues that need to be addressed with more urgency.

Right-wing opposition of the Voice to parliament has been dominating the so-called ‘no’ campaign. First Nations communities calling for more detail and more discussion also have reason to oppose it.
Universities can be hostile, overwhelming and unwelcoming places for many First Nations Peoples working in academia. More needs to be done to ensure culturally safe workplaces.
Recently, white protesters have attempted to co-opt Indigenous peoples’ call for sovereignty and self-determination for their own agendas.
Rather than trying to take agency away from First Nations people, sometimes white allies need to take a step back.
Predominantly white perspectives in health practice and policy development can exclude First Nations people in some health services. This is proving evident during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
