Kelly Cairns is the lead antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, and is currently undertaking a PhD through the Department of Infectious Diseases, The Alfred Hospital and School of Translational Medicine, Monash University.
She has worked in infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship for 20 years, leading initiatives locally, nationally and internationally.
She has an interest in optimising antimicrobial use to both improve patient outcomes and minimise antimicrobial resistance.
She is an early career researcher with interests including antimicrobial dose optimisation, in addition to the role and impact of antimicrobial stewardship teams in hospitals.
