Kaya Barry

Kaya Barry is a cultural geographer and artist working in the areas of migration, tourism, mobility, and rural geography. Her research explores how migration experiences are conditioned through visa design, everyday routines, labour, weather and climate. Kaya is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences at Griffith University. She previously was awarded an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award fellowship (2022-25).
