As Director of the Arts & Humanities in Healthcare Program at the University of Colorado’s Center for Bioethics and Humanities and an Associate Professor with over a decade of ethnographic research experience with HIV-positive women in Nigeria, I offer a unique perspective that connects public health, economic development, and national security concerns. I am also the author of The Unseen Things: Women, Secrecy, and HIV in Northern Nigeria (Indiana University Press, 2016).
