- Lecturer, School of Nursing, University of Wollongong
Dr Katherine Riley is a Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Wollongong, specialising in rural emergency care, workforce development, and health systems improvement. Her research examines how rural clinicians deliver care in high-pressure, low-resource environments — with a particular focus on clinical deterioration, resuscitation, and workforce challenges. Katherine’s work spans ethnography, co-design, and applied health services research, and is used to inform policy, education, and service delivery across rural and remote Australia. She collaborates with government agencies, professional organisations, and community partners to help design safer, more equitable models of care.
