- PhD Candidate, Anthropology, University of Bristol
I am an interdisciplinary researcher with expertise in anthropology and environmental bioscience, with a specific focus on climate justice and anti-fossil fuel activism. I hold a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology (University of Bristol, 2018), where I specialised in human rights and conservation, and an MSc in Environmental Bioscience in a Changing Climate (University of Warwick, 2020), examining sustainable land management and ecosystem services, winning an award for my dissertation. My MRes in Sustainable Futures (University of Bristol, 2025) strengthened my interdisciplinary approach, integrating economics, law and policy to address sustainability challenges.
Currently, I am completing a dual-funded PhD in Anthropology and Archaeology (University of Bristol and Macquarie University, Sydney), conducting a comparative ethnographic study of anti-fossil fuel movements. My research explores how grassroots activism is conducted, and how it seeks to influence climate policy and mitigation strategies.
Professionally, I have contributed to high-impact projects, including a University of Bristol Law School initiative on workers’ rights in the 21st century, resulting in a forthcoming book and special issue (2025). I also worked with the FAO during an internship in 2020, developing monitoring frameworks for ecosystem restoration and analysing socioeconomic indicators for UN reports.
My work bridges academic research and real-world impact, aiming to inform equitable climate solutions and amplify marginalised voices in global and local decision-making arenas. I'm proud to contribute to progressive causes in my local community alongside my PhD.
