Katherine Carroll, PhD is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Centre for Health Communication, University of Technology Sydney, Australia. She holds an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant titled, "Liquid Gold: establishing the place of donated human milk in the tissue economy" and a University of Technology Sydney Early Career Research Grant, "Milk Donation After Neonatal Loss". Her research into the delivery of health care extends into neonatal intensive care, adult intensive care, and fertility clinics. She uses ethnographic, interview and visual methods to work collaboratively with clinical staff and patients.

Katherine is a member of The Australian Sociology Association (TASA) and the American Sociology Association (ASA).
