Kate is a post-doctoral researcher with The Kids Research Institute Australia, based in New South Wales. She has a background in environmental science and microbiology and currently works on STARFISH - a multidisciplinary NHMRC-funded project seeking to address the environmental determinants of health underpinning Strep A infections, and the development of Acute Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease, in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
