- Professor, Deakin University
I have a unique multi-disciplinary background, with expertise in sociology, gender and the law. I am an ARC Industry Fellow, a former ARC Future Fellow, and a former ARC DECRA Fellow. I was the inaugural Academic Director of the Springvale Monash Legal Service, teaching into Monash University's Clinical Legal Education program.
My research focuses on addiction, drug use, sex/gender, health and the body. I am the author of four books - including the award winning “Law, drugs and the making of addiction: Just habits” - as well as numerous technical reports, journal articles, nook chapters and submissions.
My current research program focuses on drug law reform, human rights and stigma, and hepatitis C-related stigma and discrimination.
