Dr Karley Beckman is a Senior lecturer in Digital Technologies for Learning in the School of Education at the University of Wollongong and a Chief Investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child, where she co-leads the Educated research program focused on children's digital data, rights, and education. Karley’s program of research focuses on digital childhoods and critical studies of education technologies. Her research demonstrates impact in advancing theory as well as practical contributions to the development of national legislation, education policy, and understanding of children’s use of digital technologies in the wider community. Her work is dedicated to protecting children’s digital rights and empowering children and young people in their technology use in a rapidly changing world.
