- Lead, Cancer Elimination Collaboration (CEC) and Professor of Public Health, University of Sydney
I am a cancer epidemiologist with a focus on cancer policy and implementation of cancer control strategies nationally and internationally. I lead the Cancer Elimination Collaboration (CEC) in the Sydney School of Public Health, University of Sydney, which develops and leverages partnerships to accelerate the elimination of all cancers (cancereliminationcollaboration.com). I've worked across many areas of cancer control, including prevention, screening, early detection, and treatment optimisation. Our team have been very active in supporting Australian policy and practice decisions in improving control of colorectal (bowel), cervical, prostate, liver, breast, Lynch Syndrome, lung cancer and many other areas of cancer control. A focus globally has been cervical cancer elimination - our team supported WHO in strategic planning and we are now involved and leading a major Indo-Pacific implementation program, EPICC, which is supported by the Australian Government and the Minderoo Foundation.
