Kammila Naidoo is a Professor of Sociology publishing in the areas of gender relations, women's fertility, violence, poverty, and inequality. Her PhD was completed at the University of Manchester, UK, in 2001, where she served as an Association of Commonwealth Scholar. She taught at four other South African institutions before joining UJ in 2010. She is currently co-PI of multiple international projects focusing on gender and familial dynamics. She has been an adjudicator of national awards, member of Centre boards, and has sat on several review panels for universities, institutional bodies, and science councils.
