Associate Professor Kade Paterson is a Principal Research Fellow and a Dame Kate Campbell Fellow with the Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine in the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne. Kade is also a Certified Sports Podiatrist, President of Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australia, and is a Fellow of the Australian Sports Medicine Federation.
Kade is a national and international leader in the field of walking and running biomechanics, with particular expertise in the clinical and biomechanical effects of foot-based interventions for musculoskeletal conditions. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, is a co-author of a biomechanics textbook and has presented at >50 national and international conferences. Kade has attracted over $3M in research funding, including a Project Grant and an Emerging Leadership Grant from the NHMRC, Linkage Grants from the ARC, as well as industry grants. He is an editorial board member for two international journals and is Chair and the Co-Chair of the International Foot and Ankle Osteoarthritis Consortium.
