Justin Christensen

Justin Christensen is a Research Associate at Western Sydney University. His research examines how assistive music technologies and couples' shared songs can sustain social connectedness, collective memory, and joint agency for people living with dementia and those who care for them, and how the field can better measure these relational outcomes. This builds on his earlier work into the embodied mechanisms and musical cues that shape a sense of shared agency during collaborative music-making, aiming to shift musical interventions in dementia care toward the strengths and relational capacities that remain, and translating these insights into practical, creative solutions for families and caregivers.
