Julie Norman is a Professor of International Relations at UCL, an Associate Fellow on the Middle East at Chatham House, and the coordinator of UCL's Israel-Palestine Initiative. She is the author of the book, Gaza: The Dream and the Nightmare (2026), and she publishes widely on Middle East politics, foreign policy, conflict, security, peacebuilding, and political violence. She also works as a policy consultant, providing research-based analysis to the UN, UK Foreign Office, UK Ministiry of Defence, UK Parliament, and other governmental bodies and NGOs. She is a frequent contributor to the BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, and other media outlets.
