Trained as both an ecologist and an anthropologist and also taught by Indigenous Wounaan community members and scholars, I have over thirty years fostering socio-ecological research through community-based knowledge co-production. I bridge traditional disciplinary boundaries by mixing natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities, and author and co-author work for academic and non-academic publics. I began my career working for environmental non-governmental oganizations.
